Lorenzo Ward

Lorenzo opened LH Ward in 1999 as an investment manager focusing in alternative investments. He is the investment manager with primary responsibility for fund selection and the analysis effort of the firm. He has managed the Monsoon Value Discovery Fund from 2001 to 2009 a long-short equity fund. Prior to opening his firm he was an investment banker with Lehman Brothers, Salomon Brothers and started his career at Bankers Trust Company in NY. He currently serves as a director to the Monsoon Investment Funds SPC, Ltd, a multi-portfolios fund that invests in single manager hedge funds. He is a graduate of the University of Geneva and is a holder of CAIA. He is fluent in French and Italian. He is married and is the father of one child. He lives in London.

Hein C Jurgens

Hein joined LH Ward in February 2011 as investment manager with responsibility for fund selection and our international business. He is an experienced investor in hedge funds for many years on behalf of a variety of investors and through his association with Theta Capital Management in the Netherlands since 2007. In 2007 Hein retired as partner from Cazenove & Co, a London-based institutional brokerage firm when it was acquired by JP Morgan Chase. He had been with Cazenove & Co since 1991 where he was LH Ward’s broker. He also serves as a director to a number of investment entities. Hein graduated from the European Business School in London in 1991. He speaks fluent Dutch and German. He currently lives in Munich where he is married and has 3 children.

Jamilya Murzina

Jamilya is an analyst at LH Ward with responsibility for our portfolio management software and keeping it updated with current managers’ information. She is especially proficient at uncovering the most detailed quantitative information on the portfolios advised by our firm. She is currently studying at Cass Business School for an MSc in finance, holds an MSC from University of Chester and is a graduate from KIMEP in Kazakhstan, her native country. She is fluent in Kazakh and Russian in addition to English. She is still perfecting her Mandarin Chinese.
